Passion Leads: Part 1

In every one of your days, you are impacted by 3 types of Leadership: leadership of self, leadership of others (family, teammates, employers or employees) , and leadership of clients/ students/customers. Over the next three blogs, let’s look at each of these three types of leadership and see how they impact your energy level. Energy is your force factor and is driven by passion.

  1. First, you are a leader of yourself. No one determines how you will face each day. Except you. No one determines the goals you set and how diligently you will work toward those goals. Except you. No one decides the type of performance you will put forth into your days. Except you. No one decides the attitude you bring to each day’s opportunity or challenge. Except you. Your level of success and the degree of your significance is totally and completely up to you. That decision is driven by your passion.

Find your passion. And you find your energy.

The decision is up to you. How are you taking care of yourself? What are you feeding your body? How are you exercising yourself so that you have the energy that is vital for your performance each day? What are you feeding your mind? Who are you interacting with? Are they positive? Or are you allowing yourself to be drawn down by negative doomsayers? Be protective of yourself. Honor yourself. Be the best you can be. You are all that you have!!!! Take care. Live your passion—every day.

Certainly, some days are didactic. You have to do certain mechanical tasks to be able to tackle the exciting activities. But—keep your goals in mind. Write your goals. Read your goals. Know that each step you take is getting you one step closer to the goals you have set. That’s the fuel that feeds the fire of your passion. The passion is yours. Take care of it. Honor it. It’s yours.

“There is no passion to be found in playing small—in settling for less than a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” Nelson Mandela
