I would like to take a moment to personally thank my friend, mentor and coach, Alan Cohen for allowing me to share his incredible words of wisdom with you from time to time. Here is an incredible piece by him that I hope you will find beneficial for you as you make a commitment this week to be the best you can be. – Cathy

Money is like manure;
it’s not worth a thing unless
it’s spread around encouraging
young things to grow.
— Thornton Wilder

Do you feel guilty about having money? Do you believe that you having money takes funds away from someone else? If so, think again. It is possible for everyone to be wealthy without making anyone else poor. Yet such awareness requires a shift in consciousness.

Creating abundance depends on your answer to this question: Do we live in a universe of fixed resources, or do we live in a universe of infinite supply? Belief in fixed resources engenders lack and competition. Belief in infinite supply engenders generosity and sharing. Our current energy situation demonstrates the contrast between the two. For a century we have relied on an oil-based economy. Oil is a fixed commodity that some people have access to and others do not. As a result, oil-rich nations manipulate supply and demand and fix prices to their benefit. One day oil will run out. As a civilization, we are facing the painful results of depending on a fixed commodity, including war. Meanwhile, we have unlimited commodities in the sun, wind, and oceans, which everyone can have and use, eternally renewable, and free. Many free energy devices have also been invented which could easily power our world at no or little cost.

Likewise, money does not depend on a number of bricks of gold in a vault. It is the result of the energy generated when people exchange goods and services. The more energy exchanged, the more money created. The Gross Domestic Product of our country and the world has increased by huge proportions over the years. All of that new money did not come from increasing fixed back-up commodities. It increased because more energy was moved.

The wealthier you are, the more you are helping other people become wealthy because you are moving more money around. Earning and spending money is a blessing to you and the world.

Do you recognize that your awareness of wealth
supports others to be wealthy?

I share the infinite supply of the universe
and enjoy its expansion.
